NinSatsu Language: Yamoto's Speech Patterns

This is a copy-paste of a post I've made earlier, but I might do more later if something that needs explaining pops up in the translations. Like all those words I left in Japanese, for instance.

If you are watching the anime, you might've noticed that Yamoto is the only person using the "Atai" first person pronoun; since Japanese has so many more pronouns than English, everyone kinda got used to translating them all as "I". But the Ninja Slayer team just had to make it meaningful!
The scene that illustrates it best is Yamoto's awakening to Shi-Ninja's powers.

ーYou must help her.
Help? But how?
ーYou can help her.
How?
ーMe (atai) can do anything.
How?
ーWith my (atai) power. Shi-Ninja's power. Now, use it.
My (watashi) power.
ーUse it to the fullest. Now, use it.
How?
ーThere is no need to think. Now. It is time to say farewell.
From now on, I (watashi) am me (atai).
NOW. SAYONARA.
So basically, "Atai" is used to demonstrate Shi-Ninja's influence on poor Yamoto. On the other hand, when she breaks free of it, she goes back to using "Watashi" like all normal girls. It doesn't happen too often, but that's what makes it all the more meaningful. In this other scene, Yamoto is struck with a fit of guilt after killing the rapists, begging her father for forgiveness and almost killing herself while keeping addressing herself as "Watashi". it's too bad that the scene was cut from the anime, because it gives some depth to both Yamoto and Asari. 

Now, how do you translate that? Well the official sources say that it should be translated into English as "Me is", so who am I to argue with them?

But then the question is, why don't the official subs use that? Maybe they don't work that closely with the original writers after all?
